Let's Begin! Practice Observing

We often hear in art class at our school observation is very important in drawing. We frequently draw what  we "know" rather than what we actually "see." For example, if we are told to draw an apple, we will draw a curved line 'c' at the left and the inverse at the right 'ɔ.' Although this is not the actual shape of an apple, we sometimes draw like this because we are too used to the simple logo or drawing of an apple and we mistakenly add our knowledge to our picture without even looking at the object correctly.
Therefore the first activity for our art club was to draw based on our own observations. We tried to draw complicated and unfamiliar objects and buildings were the perfect models for our practice.
